The Goal.com

Tribute to Dave Hood (July 14,1944 – December 11th, 2020)

We are humbled and honored to write you on behalf of Dave’s widow, Margaret, and sons Bil and Jamie. Dave had no way of knowing his ongoing passion to spread the Gospel worldwide would be cut short by Covid-19. Yet, he was already working to assure God’s Kingdom work would continue beyond his time on earth.

Dave’s passion was TheGoal.com. Over the past 25 years, Dave donated countless hours to create, manage and promote this web site of more than 1,200 Christian athletes whose changed-life stories have spoken to over 60 million people around the world.

Before his passing last December, Dave intended to transfer the management and control of TheGoal.com to Jesus.net, a faith-based non-profit organization Dave believed in. Over the years, through his company, Genesis One Design, Dave personally has picked up uncounted expenses both in time and cash to keep TheGoal.com active.

To honor Dave and the Lord he served, Margaret, Bil and Jamie, have now completed this transfer, ensuring TheGoal.com can continue 24/7.

In the meantime, the Hood family now faces Covid-19 related expenses of $40,000. How can you and we, who knew and loved Dave, honor his life and calling to Christ? The best way is to join with many others in making a generous donation that will give the Hood family practical support and peace of mind in their hour of need. Can you help? Will you help?

In return, Jesus.net has offered to accept any donations that come into Jesus.net (TheGoal.com), to be receipted with a tax-deductible letter. Jesus.net will transfer funds up to $40,000 to the Hood family as a payment for the transfer of the url.

Jesus.net plans to carry Dave’s vision for reaching athletes and those interested in sports, and use it as a global tool to reach and disciple more people for Christ,” says the organization’s leadership.

Thank you for whatever you can do to help the Hood family. Our prayer is to meet the goal of $40,000 by Dave’s birthday July 27th. May this be a lasting, living tribute to our dear brother and friend, Dave Hood.

Gratefully in Christ,
